Growing up, Mike always knew he had entrepreneurialism in his blood. In the Navy, Mike was a bomb technician, but he had no idea how those skills could transition into something in Silicon Valley. When Mike left the military, he wanted to find a job in tech, but he couldn’t get his foot in the door. He soon found out he wasn’t the only one with this problem. 

Mike noticed he had a hard time landing jobs at tech companies because he was not telling a compelling enough story. There’s no doubt that he, like just about every other veteran, had the skills and potential to thrive in high-growth environments. Unfortunately, no one was helping them demonstrate those abilities. Mike saw an opportunity to change that with his company, Shift.

Shift is a talent development company powering successful career shifts for military veterans. Shift uses technology to match great people to great organizations through immersive fellowship programs that lead to jobs veterans love. 

“The common thread was when people got jobs because I had the slightest influence in the process, that was very addictive,” Mike says, “When you’re a career coach working at Shift, you’re helping hundreds of people on a monthly basis who are going to remember your name five years from now. What’s that gonna be like? I think it’s going to be pretty awesome.”
