Regardless of how well we plan our lives, things have a habit of taking unexpected turns. For Nick Elprin, he went from being an aspiring computer engineer to finding himself in an internship at Bridgewater learning about finance.

His perception of what the finance world was like shifted, and he ended up working there for several years after college. During these formative professional years, Nick built internal platforms that helped quantitative analysts do economic research. When he reached a plateau, Nick ventured out on his own with two former Bridgewater colleagues to found what ultimately became Domino Data Lab. 

In this episode, Nick sheds light on the experience of founding a data science platform when the market was blossoming. He shares how he applied what he learned from Bridgewater and how he used his deep-seated belief in analytical problem solving to underpin Domino’s mission.
