In today’s interview, he joins Chad to talk about the future of technology, politics, and humanity. He also shares how 80,000 Hours is helping get more people to think about finding a career that has a real impact.

Rob Wiblin is the Director of Research at 80,000 Hours, an organization which aims to find the highest-impact ways for talented graduates to do good through their career.

They release their research on their website and on The 80,000 Hours Podcast, where they do in-depth interviews on the world’s most pressing problems. They also help people put their ideas into action through one-on-one career advising.

Rob studied genetics and economics at the Australian National University, graduated top of his class, and was named Young Alumnus of the Year in 2015. He worked as a research economist in the Australian Government before moving to Oxford to work at the Centre for Effective Altruism, first as Research Director and then Executive Director. He then became Research Director for 80,000 Hours as it was going through Y Combinator in 2015.
